9.04 Manipulation of GTK Themes
« on: January 02, 2010, 03:50:20 am »
Hello!  I've been thoroughly enjoying Luna Serena 'til today when I switched to 9.04... and I'm amazed that nothing broke!  Things are even more functional!...Though, the "OpenGEU Themes Switcher" seems to have lost functionality... which I imagine might be intentional on the part of you lovely developers.  If you're not aware, on a pretty fresh install of 9.04 the switcher window opens but there's nothing inside it.

Anyway, that grey theme that is the default for GTK portions of OpenGEU is driving me nuts and I've spent a lot of time puzzling over how to get it to switch to some other theme (e.g. DarkRoom).  Is there a relevant config file or terminal command or way to convince the theme switcher to start doing things to that effect?

Thanks a lot.  This is the best OS I've used, after all these years of tasting different flavours of Linux. 8)

Can you show me a screenshot of the window?

I'm having a similar issue with the theme manager in 9.10.

For example, originally when I opened the Gnome Themes window, all the choices were greyed out and could not be selected. I suspected that might be because I had setup my Gnome implementation to use Emerald as the theme manager, so I switched to Metacity. When I went back into OpenGEU, the Gnome themes were now "clickable," but clicking on them doesn't do anything. In other words, I can select a Gnome theme but it doesn't change anything.

On the other hand, in the main window when I click on e17 Themes, nothing happens at all.
