two questions from a newbe
« on: July 20, 2008, 08:27:24 pm »
I installed the beta that was just released and everything looks good so far.

Question one: can you set the mouse to be a "left-handed" mouse?

Question two: How come /etc/apt/sources.list only has straight Ubuntu repositories? Should there not be one from the this distro also?

Thanks.

Hello buckaroo wellcome.

Question one , Configuration > Configuration Panel > Mousse Keyboard > Shortcuts Mousse , it can configure the mousse as you prefer.

Question two , sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

 ## OpenGEU
  deb http://e17.dunnewind.net/ubuntu hardy e17
  deb http://download.tuxfamily.org/geubuntu/ hardy/

Agust, thanks for the help but I still have a small problem.

"deb http://e17.dunnewind.net/ubuntu hardy e17"
was in the sources.list but I overlooked it. But; it is down and has been down since I installed OpenGEU. I guess that is a known problem? it also claims to be unverified.

The answer I was looking for, without knowing it, to question number one was:
sudo xmodmap -e "pointer = 3 2 1"

Your suggestion allows one to set all sorts of things, but not to simply swap the left and right mouse buttons.

Damn nice distro!

Thanks for your help.

Hello buckaroo , does not understand well , forgive my bad English , for the verification of the repository(dunnewind):
As for importing the public key we need, just open a terminal window (Applications --> Utilities --> Terminal)

wget http://lut1n.ifrance.com/repo_key.asc
sudo apt-key add repo_key.asc
