Isn't E17 supposed to be lightweight?
I have installed gnome and it uses 15mb less memory.
I can live with cause i have 1Gb.

but!

E17 eats all my Cpu resources on both cores when the
beam from the sun on desktop appears.
When i play a game (World of Warcraft) then it becomes completly unplayable for a few seconds.
everytime this sunbeams appears in the background.

Can i do something to bring this Cpu load down when it appears?

Not a perfect solution but switching to a non animated background will fix it. I will check when I get home tonight to see if I have the same problem.

Enlightenment comes to the top of top on my system when the sunbeam flares but honestly it doesn't use much only 1.7% CPU. I did try the install on another system and it has serious slowdown issues not sure why. I can't get it to run anything from the terminal never mind top.

I must second helskov, I noticed the same with the sun rays and switched to a static background therefore. BTW: even the graphics card's cooling fan wheeled up when the rays were to be drawn...

I did some experiments.

I tried to enable Composite og Xrender under "Engine Settings"
No difference.

Another topic.
I made some keybindings for workspace switching.
When i use a fullscreen OpenGl application, and changes Workspace
then i can get i back to screen. I can hear the game running in the background but
cant get picture on screen again.
Works fine under Gnome.

Sorry everyone, maybe the graphics of the default Background are too heavy. Will fix em in an update to be more light weight, anyway, this happens specially only in some computers, don't know why for sure, maybe because E17 is still in beta and has to be optimized better.... well but a lof of the problems has been generated by my background... sorry, will light it down
