My wireless disconnects for no reason at all. I go to log back in and it does not when I put in the pw. Sometimes I must reboot several times so I can log back in wireless with the keyring.

My wireless has never worked.  I have to use XP to post. (I had to get the Belkin.  ) |

my wireless seems to works ok
but i do have problems with my wired network connections
i believed that it has been mainly to with the wires beyond my home...british telecom and my isp.
very frustrating

My wireless card requires the 2.6.27.11 kernel or later. Guess thats +1 for Luna Serena.  (with a hack of course) |

Whats d hack? The driver had to be forced to recognize the card. Since then its fully supported. Belkin's hardware is non-standard. |

I recentely had to use the ndiswrapper to use a windows driver for a friends Netgear PCMCIA wireless card.
I believe its the WG511v2 made in china (diff chipset)

I am currently using Ubuntu Ultimate Edition based on 9.04 on my Gateway Lt 3103u netbook with Amd 64 and Atheros AR9285 wireless. I found the ath5k in 9.04 does not pick up my chip, but in 9.10 beta it works perfectly, so I added backporting to my 9.04 and “viola” wireless.
My question before I even start is, can I backport OpenGEU 8.10 to get wireless, Should I be pinning anything I know from experience that etk can be a problem. I didn't uncomment any repos, to prevent stability issues. Is there a alpha or beta of OpenGeu to play with if this doesn't work. UE is great do it all right out of the box and excellent choice of many themes but sure is heavy, and I really miss the look an feel I have on my z61 thinkpad.

9.04 alpha is in development. The repos are up but there was an issue with missing packages that may not be resolved yet. As for backports, your guess is as good as any. |

What operating system are you using? I recently read an article "Update Windows to latest Service Pack for bug fixes.This works wonder, and in fact, after a recent update to Windows Vista Service Pack 1, virtually wireless disconnection problem just simply disappear. If you are experiencing constant disconnection, this should be the first step you need to do (if you haven’t)."
