So, I'm a little embarrassed but I'm going to ask anyway
I do not know how to clone or build the animation branch for mypaint. I would love to try it out and it seems like a worthy add-on to my preferred art program. Could someone give me a run-down or direct me to a place where I can learn to do this?

Also,
Since the animation branch affects layers, if I build it into Mypaint, will my layers be like animation slides permanently?

Which animation branch? There is charbelinho's and manu's. On the Animation page on the wiki, there is a link to step-by-step instructions how to install the former.
