Just checked out the Master repo to find this new gem.

It's just awesome. I've been having a ton of fun doodling space ships. When the lines, curves, and ellipses branch gets merged, it will really be something to behold. MyPaint has become the most artist friendly program I know.

A few requests, if I may.

Can we set an axis to draw upon? Ideally horizontal or vertical, but being able to set an arbitrary one at any angle could be interesting. I suppose this could just be done by rotating the canvas. I'm not sure what would be the best way to handle it.

Also, a way to set a position on the canvas in which to use the tool would be helpful. To go along with that, maybe a visual indicator or marker to show where the axis is would be nice. It's a bit awkward at first to start drawing and having to guess where the mirror axis is.

Again, thanks so much for implementing this. Even if these requests go ignored, just at it's current functionality, it's brilliant!

Fuck yeah, Symmetry in Mypaint!!! I'm telling you, this has been the most awesome couple of months in a long time with all these new developments with mypaint.  I agree once the line and ellipse functions get added, (thought they already were) to the main git, Mypaint will be the KING of sketching applications   I agree with Loken, even at this stage of functionality, It is Brilliant.  Thank you for implementing these very cool changes SavageOrange, Maxy, Achadwick, and Optigon.

Sneaky, I didn't even know about this until I found this forum post today. Nice feature that I'm going to have to play with some - I love it in Alchemy and am happy to see it in MyPaint.

What a wonderful feature we have hereeeeee!
I am so much enjoying it that i keep drawing it, and could not think trying a version without =).
It is so much fun to have that... i am drawing some spaceships at this moment and it is really a nice feature for this purpose....

I agree about the fact that it would be even better with a visual feedback of where the axis is
Even more, a tool to be able to set this axis would be awesome
Even even more, the possibility to set the angle of the symmetric tool would be a cherry on the cake =).

Wow, this app is progressing so well. No blunders are ever made in keeping this app simple and easy to use with the right feature priorities. Many computer programs seem like they've been designed by people who don't use them. Not Mypaint! Thanks for all the work.

Hi there! Sorry to bother but I am extremely interested in this new feature but I can't seem to find it on my build?

I tried installing mypaint from the ppa given in the testing section... do you think I'm doing something wrong by any chance?

EDIT: Got it working! Never mind haha! But the new features are awesome! I can't seem to live without mypaint in my workflow now. Thanks so much to the team for all the great features!
