---------------[ update august 2009 ]---------------------

Hi , just an update of my brush set for 7.1 serie :
The brush set V2 :
Download Brush set V2 here
and the details of new brushes :

--------------------------------------------------------------
Hello,

Congrats for Mypaint 0.6.0 ; I tested Mypaint since the 0.4.0 and 0.6.0 it's the first release I use in my production pipeline. ( I'm a pro 2D concept artist & Illustrator ; user and teacher in high school of Painter / Photoshop and all other 2D software that able to do some digital-painting , now I turning more and more myself to opensource for durability and product stability ).
I tweak a bit the brush to be more productive ; and I come it to share you my work and my brush on download. Feel free to integrate them or not , most of them are already on mypaint 0.6.0 package and I just build a new icon , I leave them free.

Free Mypaint custom brushes :
Download MySpeedpaintingBrushesMySpeedpaintingBrushes here

Here is a screen of one of my typical design work with it and UI disposition :

And at last ; here is a paste&glue work I made with Gimp of my ideal future Mypaint ; if this give idea to developers Smiley
( Artwork was made with mypaint 0.6.0  )

( And I really like & use all shortcuts ; with all of this icon I just try to make it more user friendly for beginner . And compact Ui)

Thanks again for this good application !

hi Deevad

Nice work, and a pleasantly looking brush collection you got there (a bit too little contrast for my taste, though).

I will include it when I find a way to let the user easily work with different brushsets. Maybe it should also be possible to have a frame bitmap and labels that are both separated from the brush preview. Can all take some time though, I'm rather working on popups at the moment.

Thanks MadnessMike Smiley
&
Thanks Maxy ; for the contrast, I saw it after export all the blank label out of gimp with the name  ( I made blank label with name only on Gimp, and under Mypaint I directly paint over with the little "Edit" brush painting editor.
Dynamic label name for brush ? it could be easily customisable with the "rename" function in the brush editor and very productive to have nice but customisable brush preview.
Take your time on developpement , I'm happy with the 0.6 Smiley
( just wait for Gimp or Krita "*.ora" importer/exporter )

I will continue to post here my future pieces.

Update !
All of this ones are 90% & 10% Gimp-painter ( or a bit more ). I'm used now to start with mypaint always, and finish in Gimp-Painter.
Mainly for the layer fusion mode as "Addition" "Overlay" and "Multiply", usefull for creating light or darkening parts.

In this one, all the sketch done with mypaint , with all the color mass. After, color details were done with Gimp 2.6 with GPS presets.

(100% Mypaint )

(background with Gimp painter , and color tweaks too )

(100% Mypaint )

Very nice artwork. Thanks also for providing some details about your workflow, that's interesting for me. Btw. the latest Krita release can save/load OpenRaster now, still waiting for GIMP :-)

Today , 2 presents + your posts ( thanks ! )
1 - I installed Krita, and super it can open my open raster !
2 - I discovered the 0.7 of Mypaint !
! GOOD JOB !
here my favorite features :
* 2 time faster, and big brush don't do refreshing problems on screen.
* The knife option ( can play with the basic cercle shapes ) Exactly what I wanted.  Wink
* Merge down layer is very good for work
* background color
Here the only feature not running is the eraser recognition of the stylus. But I'm used too since 0.5 and I'm ok with.
THANKS ! keep good job devellopers.
