Thanks  ;D
I know about the mirror feature and I also like its simple implementation  ;)

but I use the split view mostly to have the whole painting in view, and simultaneously some detail, so I don't break the whole image with some stupid detail
(you can paint on details and the whole peace without zooming in and out again and again .......)

my example

the only thing which bothered mi was the big arrow and the screaming cyan border

Bobby Chius workflow

Thanks again if somebody know more about this matter.

I didn't knew this branch made so much of progress ( docked ? right docker? cool ) , and this interest also myself as I work similar within Gimp ( another thumbnail view on the dual screen to keep an eye on the overall picture ).  I stopped my test when it was only a single split view, and we concluded it was the 'poor man preview' as it needed at this moment to cut a full column of screen to get a thumbnail preview , also one of the target was to isolate a part of the drawing with a palette ( thing that scratchpad does better now ) . But yes ... it was long time ago.

I also miss the feature in Mypaint ( and Krita ) , and for the moment ( and since Sintel ) I abuse of zoomed *.ora thumbnail in my file explorer ; the bad things is I have to save to refresh the thumb and always keep an eyes to got a file-browser with a proper *.ora thumbnail viewer.

I totally agree for the cyan outline being agressive and obtrusive arrow right now.

Hi Deevad, there isn't a second docked, but it would be cool  8), I use a No-Title Slim Gtk 2.4 theme.
And to get the preview I split the view first vertical and then horizontal, arrange the split lines and move the brush window over the not needed third view,
it's a little bit troublesome, but it gets the job done. :)

That's a grate idea with the palette window, just add a preview window with the same functionality as the palette, so you could paint in it zoom and so on like a regular canvas, no UI complications. ;)

For the thumbs I just use Shutter 0.87.2 print-screening a selection.
