Use the money saved not buying MS licenses to something you'll never own, and get a few extra batteries you'll keep 4ever Smiley

I have a question, how compatible is OpenGEEEU with the Asus EEE 1000HE?
I have Open Geeeu installed on my 1000HE -- runs fine. Wifi and sound worked fine out of the box.
You must have the 1000HE with the Railink chipset.  I have the newer one with Arthos chipset, requiring drivers from Ubuntu 9.10 (works with 9.04 with backports too).
